When it comes to restaurants, visual impact is key: whether it be the decor or the presentation of the dish, every client who walks through the door deserves an all-encompassing experience. Both in the kitchen and in the dining area, the right lighting can make or break the meal: chefs need to prepare and assemble their dishes, and guests deserve just the right atmosphere.
Architect Piero Gianotti Prat, from Studio Associato QSA came up with a wonderful design for Le Petit Restaurant Japonais in Avigliana (TO). The main focus of the project was to create a functional yet welcoming space to highlight the refined traditional Japanese cuisine whilst still creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The venue is divided in two halls, each one decked with a striking combination of Creative-Cables Cage chandelier and Floating light bulbs.
The main hall - with 3,3 m vaulted ceilings in exposed brick - was accentuated by a black Rose-One rose and a blush-coloured fabric cable combination, which perfectly blended in with the brick and brought light to the heart of the vaults for a sleek and symmetrical composition. Four lamps made from Cage - a patented component designed to enclose the cables creating fun and unique suspension lamps - are featured at the core of the installation.
The products used in the main hall were displayed following different colour schemes.
The second hall, smaller in size and with 2,7 m ceilings, replicates the same atmosphere seen in the main room by using two Cage ceiling lamps and Floating light bulbs. This time the colour chosen for every single component (from the cables to the roses and lamp holders) was black.
Our Floating light bulbs are available in different colours and sizes; they can also be purchased in two versions: Smoky and Clear. What really sets them apart from other light bulbs is the filament hidden along the edge of the bulb, for a fun decorative effect. The one seen in the composition has a 15 cm diameter and can be used alone or paired with any suspension lamp or other lamps from the same collection.
